BES Bassmaster Classic 2024 April 24, 2024

This week BES Fishing Club hit our hometown freshwater impoundment with high expectations of an all out banner day.

With 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place payouts/prizes of a new rod, lures, and the title of “First Catch of 2024”. There was a lot on the line (pun intended). After all, the Bassmaster Classic is the most prestigious event in the sport of bass fishing.

Unfortunately, things don’t always as planned when you are fishing and as my mom always says, “That’s why they call it fishin’ not catchin’.” (I always hate when she says that)

Despite catching only a doll head, a baby’s pacifier, and few other oddball items, everyone had a great time. We had 14 members alongside 4 brave female staff members that I am really grateful to have helping us this year. It was a beautiful spring day to be a teacher and student at BES, as always.

Long story short, expect the next time to be an epic fishing report and keep the anticipation high! You win some you lose some, it’s all the same to me.
