Belmar Fishing Club Ocotober Report
Thursday October 24th 2024
Conditions were picturesque with sightings of dolphins and whales, on arrival at the 12th Ave beach. It was beautiful.
With an outgoing tide, northwest wind, and falling sun, there were promising signs of a memorable catch. Could this be the day we catch the 30lber? Catch or not, any day in late October you can hit the beach in short sleeves with the sun shining is a win in my book.
“When will we hook up, Mr. P?”
“Do you even know what you are doing, here?”
I’ve heard it all before, but I know one thing. I ask myself these same questions on every fishing trip.
You can’t win them all and despite not catching that trophy striped bass we had a great day at the beach and teachers/students collected more data for our next outing. Always learning and evolving, old salt or novice.
From now until early December is the time to hit the beach and get out fishing for striped bass. Fish the end of incoming and top of outgoing tide on a west/northwest wind for best results.
Thanks to Mrs. Travers and Mrs. Veltre for their help and guidance as always!
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.
